Visual artists have a certain need to self-promote and manage their online presence. In this example, Elaine Tweedy has years of experience painting and many inventory items she'd like to see online. The newest version of the artist gallery content management system is called Palette, and it's easy to use and continues to evolve.
In an effort to keep things simple for the content management system user if there is something that can be done with programming that is the best solution. In this case, an updated thumbnail editor takes what I did for the Carvings by Voghell site and amplifies it a bit.
