These are fictionalized scenarios based on actual people. Scenarios are created to help the programmers, designers and clients figure out what the website requirements are.
Stephanie is a 40 year old RN working in the West side of town. Her husband is a landscape architect. They have three kids aged 5 through 11. They're looking for a larger house on a larger lot near work with good schools. They plan on selling their house in July and moving in August. The rest of the year they're browsing and taking notes.
Ivan is a custom home builder. He has purchased a dozen large lots in the
SW and needs to find buyers like Stephanie and the other user groups he's
created. How does he reach them? The Mote Marketing Services 10 Point System
will help Ivan find home buyers.
Gary is a 60 year old purchaser for a rig services company. His job is to
assemble a portable skid with all the requirements handed down from the project
manager. Each million-dollar skid requires parts from 10 suppliers, but if
one supplier could provide more parts at a better discount he would go with
them. Gary is also responsible for quality assurance of the parts he buys,
so he's resistant to try something he doesn't trust.
Elise is a sales rep for an industrial distributor. They have a new brand of high-performance hydraulic valve that is lighter, stronger, and more reliable. It's new, it's more expensive, and it's possibly the future of this industry. She needs to find the buyers like Gary and get them to try her product.
Mark is a 40 year old municipal public works manager. The majority of his time is spent coordinating new road and train construction. He has 5 unions to negotiate with, a binder full of municipal, provincial and federal requirements, a stack of suggestions, and everything is dependent on the weather. An important but ultimately non-critical task is to find an artist to create something noble and positive that will endure at the new train station for a lifetime.
Judy is a 50 year old sculptor with an interest in putting her artwork on sidewalks instead of in boardrooms. She has a great portfolio and a decent website that gets decent traffic, most of it from the United States. How does she get the attention of someone like Mark, especially if she doesn't know that someone like Mark is out there? Mote Marketing Services was created to solve this problem.
